Hurricanes have one interesting feature: their center is always calm. This hurricane is exactly what yandere is. For those who are close to the yandere, she is practically safe and may even seem like a completely normal girl. However, everyone else can easily be hit by a roof flying in a hurricane when trying to get closer. Of course, trying to first get close to a yandere and then move on to another one will have the same effect. Yanderes start out as normal and even cute characters, but at some point they become wedged, and their behavior radically changes to cruel and dangerous, and sometimes hysteria is not enough, and yanderes reach for knives, katanas, daggers, machetes, boxcutters and other dangerous objects .

- Yandere

Defining an Archetype
There is a large selection of character archetypes in anime and manga, and if the male ones are mostly reduced to the “ordinary Japanese schoolboy,” then among the female ones there is diversity. Thus, tsunderes (female characters who show their love by intentionally mocking the object of their adoration) and kudere (distant, apathetic girls) are popular. Yandere is on a par with them; Yanderes are loved by male otaku who watch anime for certain traits of their behavior.
A yandere is a mentally unstable character, most often a girl. Her behavior is justified by her strong love, for the sake of which the previously harmless schoolgirl is ready to commit violence. In especially advanced cases, she is ready to kill for her beloved young man; this type of yandere has its own name and is called yangire .
Among anime fans, yanderes gained their popularity for:
- the spectacle of murders, which are extremely bloody;
- bright appearance;
- motivation in the form of immense love.
If we summarize the above, then identifying a yandere among other types of heroes will be simple: if a female character in an anime is the embodiment of evil , most likely she is a yandere. In the case when boys dream about how great it would be if “my girlfriend was ready to kill for me,” they dream about a yandere.

One day, thoughtlessly, a strange letter appeared in his hands with the words “Will you turn? You won’t turn it around” and shipping instructions (put in a desk drawer). Having thoughtlessly selected the “Turn” option, Jun discovered among the incoming parcels a strange chest, which contained an unusually beautiful doll. He started the doll with the key that was in the chest, and the doll came to life. Shinku, the fifth of Rosen Maiden's magical dolls, immediately showed the boy her character by slapping him in the face for daring to touch the lady without her permission.
Jun very quickly realized that dealing with Rosen Maiden dolls was life-threatening, having been attacked by an unknown enemy literally minutes after the fateful turn of the key. In exchange for saving his life, he was forced to swear an oath of fidelity to Shinku, becoming her medium and servant. From that moment on, Jun became a full participant in the mysterious events associated with magic dolls made in ancient times by the legendary puppeteer Rosen.
The plot presented in the anime and in the manga, despite the presence of similar elements, is very different, both in the events that directly occur and in the past of the characters.

Popular yandere characters
Lucy (Elfen Lied)

Natalia Arlovskaya (Hetalia)
The Hetalia anime franchise is built on the humanization of countries and states, and Natalya has become the living embodiment of Belarus. Modest, smart and quiet, Natalya Arlovskaya is ready to do anything to “become one” with “brother Russia”.

Yuno Gasai (Mirai Nikki)

The anime Mirai Nikki was released in 2011, and Yuno Gasai personally revived the love of otaku for yanderes. Despite the fact that there was nothing unusual in the unremarkable appearance - two pink ponytails and a crazy look - and excessive bloodshed, anime fans once again raised their head, finding a new goddess in the person of Yuno Gasai.
Ayano "Yandere-chan" Aisha (Yandere Simulator)
A student at an ordinary Japanese school, Academy High, in love with her Senpai. In fact, Ayano Aishi is the main character of the game Yandere Simulator , which is currently in development. The essence of the game is to eliminate rivals in Senpai's heart, and the possibilities of the game in this regard are endless. Using their twisted mind, the player - and by extension Ayano Aishi - can:

The past two years have seen a decline in the popularity of violent schoolgirls in anime culture. However, given the trends of the past decade, anime fans are already waiting for the emergence of a new yandere girl who will revive this archetype. And it looks like the wait won't be long.

Subtypes
Tsundere is one of the six main character archetypes, but not all heroes fit into a strict classification. Characters who are in many ways reminiscent of a tsundere, but who deviate significantly from the canon, are assigned to subtypes, which can number up to ten. Let's look at some of them.
Tsunaho (tsundoji, tsunbaka) is a character who tries to look cold and reserved, but due to his natural absent-mindedness and clumsiness it turns out poorly. Tsunaho often looks stupid and gets into ridiculous situations.
Tsuntere is a softer, shy version (here the second part of the word is derived from “tereru” - shy). Natural modesty prevents the character from looking openly cold and arrogant, and the object of warm feelings can easily embarrass him.
Tsundora is the most cold, unemotional character, and it is difficult to awaken his soft side. A good example is Senjougahara from A History of Monsters.
Tsungire – here the ending is formed from the word “kireru”, which means short circuit. Such a hero is seemingly indifferent, but he gradually accumulates emotions within himself, which over time can lead to a real explosion.
Tsongshun is a character in whom a surge of negative emotions is replaced not by a manifestation of gentleness, but by depression.
Dandere
Representatives of this type are also silent and withdrawn, but not because they are emotionless. On the contrary, dandere are overwhelmed by feelings, but such heroes are overly shy. They are often simply ashamed of their feelings and try to hide them. Dandere may avoid the company of other people, preferring books to communication. People often trust their innermost thoughts to a diary.
Dandere are often economical girls. Due to shyness, they experience great difficulties in communicating, especially with the opposite sex. Typical representatives: Hyuuga Hinata (“Naruto”), Shiomiya Shiori (“The World God Only Knows”), Onodera Kosaki (“Fake Love”).
